Mesothelioma - What is Mesothelioma Cancer?
Mesothelioma cancer is a rare cancer that is thougth to come from the inhalation of asbestos fibers as well as exposure to asbestos. People that have work concerning plentiful amounts of asbestos are in danger of contracting mesothelioma. Studies have reasonably shown that the vast majority of those that have mesothelioma had exposure to asbestos at some point in the past whether it was work-related or otherwise.
Mesothelioma is also a relatively rare form of cancer with only about 4000 cases each year. The three major varieties of mesothelioma all match up to the area of the mesothelium that is affected. They are known as Pericardial, Peritoneal and Pleural Mesothelioma.
The cancer is named after the mesothelium, which is a protective membrane that covers various cavities. Peritoneal, Pleural and Peritoneal mesothelioma are all named after the particular cavities that this cancer affects. The symptoms for each are different.
These symptoms generally show up much later on in the future after exposure to asbestos. Weight loss, abdominal pain as well as abdominal lumps are all symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma. Pleural Mesothelioma symptoms include shortness of breath, cough (dry), lumps in the chest region, chest pain, painful breathing and coughing. Pericardial Mesothelioma symptoms are chest pains, fever, heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, murmurs, Orthopnea. It should be noted that smokers that have been exposed to asbestos have a higher than normal chance of contracting pleural mesothelioma.
In rare cases, if the cancer is caught exceedingly early, the cancer may be sent into remission. Otherwise, mesothelioma patients experience abysmal survival rates. Those suffering from advanced stages of mesothelioma usually have a year or so to live.
Those fortunate enough to uncover the cancer in its early stages can expect to live for up to 5 years. There is still research being done in the field, albeit not a whole lot. The well-known specialist, Dr.David Sugarbaker and other notable doctors elsewhere represent the few doctors that are making inroads into unraveling the mysteries of this cancer. The main areas of research tend to target pleural mesothelioma and new, aggressive techniques have been found to lengthen live expectancy by years. While a cure has still not been found for any type of cancer much less mesothelioma, there is constant research being done in the area.
Shan Durai has a website on Mesothelioma that offers free information on areas such as pleural, peritoneal and pericardial Mesothelioma as well as highlighting treatment facilities, doctors and treatment methods.

Breast Massage - Why Not?
Over 250,000 women are diagnosed each year with breast cancer. Approximately 14,000 women die each year from breast cancer. These are alarming rates to hear. How can this be possible? What about all the money being raised to find a cure? Let's take a look at the anatomy of the breast.
The female breast consists of mostly fatty tissue surrounding the mammary gland just behind the nipple. As you walk, your breasts are suppose to bounced and move allowing the breast tissue to move toxins out the breast tissue and into the lymph nodes where the body can expel the toxins.
Many women wear bras from 6 - 24 hours a day and the bras are usually too tight causing the breasts to be held too tight, not allowing the breasts to move naturally. As the breasts are not allowed to move the toxins enter into the fatty tissue, where they find a home and stay, just waiting for a cancer cell to come by and attached itself to these toxic cells. As these toxic cells sit and collect more toxic cells the breasts may become very tender to the touch, making mammograms extremely painful or even walking painful. The breast may develop non-cancerous masses, which will send a chill up every woman's spine. Every doctor instructs women how to do a self exam, yet many women still do not examine their breasts regularly. Some women are embarrassed, or too afraid, to exam their own breasts. This is a matter of life or death for every woman. I certainly hope more and more women will take the time for breast exams. However I want to talk to you about a way women and greatly reduce their chances of getting breast cancer and improve their overall breast health. I want to talk about breast massage.
According to the American Massage Therapy Association, if a woman massaged her breasts once a week, her chances of breasts cancer could be reduced by 42%. That is huge! That would mean, over 100,000 women would not, ever have to get that diagnosis. Not to mention, the reduction in breast tenderness or lumps to improve women's health. We are the only industrialized country in the world that has not fully legalized breast massage as a therapeutic way to slow and maybe even stop breast cancer. I have had several women, that I taught to do breast massage, report a reduction and elimination of breast tenderness. Lumps have been reduced and not returned. Also one of my clients reported her doctor thought she had lost weight because the density in her breast had greatly reduced after less than a year of self massages. The breast massages greatly reduce the pain of mammograms. So how do you do these breast massages you ask? Here are the 3 steps to breast massage:
Step 1- After disrobing your breasts, you can begin by taking your thumb, or index and middle fingers, starting at you nipple and gently pressing out toward the edge of your breast. Repeat this stroke all the way around your breast. Then repeat again around the entire breast. You may find you can go deeper on the pressure the second time around as the toxins start to move. If not, just keep the same pressure each time.
Step 2- Open your hands and lay them out flat with your index fingers and thumbs overlapping each other, leaving an opening between your hands. Place you hands on your breast with your nipple in the opening between your hands. Gently press down and out toward the edge of your breast twice from side to side, then twice from top to bottom.
Step 3- put some lotion on your hand, or if in the shower use soap. Cup your hand around your breast and rotate your breast clockwise twice. Then rotate counterclockwise twice. Remember not to squeeze too hard and allow your breast to flow back through your hand. Next repeat this motion on the top part of your breast.
Remember to do the other breast when you are finished. If you repeat this massage once a week, you should notice an improvement in the overall health of your breasts.

He has taught more than 20 women how to do breast massage correctly and has had amazing results. Women who had previously suffered with painful tenderness, lumps appearing regularly, and overall breast discomfort, report immediate improvement. Many women have reported a reduction in mammogram pain as well. Butch believes that most of our aches and pains throughout our body is a result of tight, underused muscles oinching nerves and joints being pulled closer together. Butch loves to teach people how to relieve themselves of their daily pain in hopes it will reduce the healthcare costs in America and improve their quality of life. meso patients
It was mentioned that it is cancer which caused by asbestos fibres, so it becomes usual if the people who spend their days with asbestos fibres have big potential to suffer from it. I want to know the case about "meso patient" and stories bout how the patient was suffered from that cancer. I use "meso patient" as a keyword in search engiine.
Meso patients need an exact handling, like the other illnesses need it too. A precise information about what and how mesothelioma is very needed for them. When your family become meso patients and need an exact information about it, so http://mymeso.org will be an exact place for you to get information about mesothelioma.

mesothelioma cancer
Considering on the cause, it is feasible to be an interesting topic for certain people especially who use asbestos in their lives. The common use of it is for roof. If asbestos that we use is broken, the fibres will release. Then we inhale them.
Mesothelioma cancer is one of the negative effects of using asbetos, the indication will emerge after 20 up to 30 years. Fortunately, there are two safe ways in using asbestos. First, change the asbestos occasionally. Second, don't use damage or broken asbestos because its producers absolutely maximize the safety for customers.

disease mesothelioma article
Once exposed to asbestos, a mesothelioma patient may take 20 to 50 years to demonstrate symptoms of the disease. For this reason, diagnosis often occurs once the cancer had progressed to later stages of development, often resulting in a poor mesothelioma prognosis.
Though mesothelioma treatment may be difficult following a late diagnosis, many patients choose to undergo surgery, chemotherapy or radiation to combat the disease.
Many women are diagnosed with mesothelioma as a result of secondary exposure to asbestos. Husbands, fathers, family and friends often unknowingly bring the toxic fibers into the home on their bodies and clothing, following a long day working closely with asbestos on the job. Several women have been diagnosed with mesothelioma after years of washing their husband’s clothing laden with asbestos.
Additional information about mesothelioma may be found through the Mesothelioma Cancer Center.

Mesothelioma Mesomark Blood Test
Author: Mesothelioma Asbestos Cancer OrgMESOSELIOMA MESOMARK BLOOD TEST
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the MESOMARK assay to help monitor response to treatment in malignant mesothelioma patients. The MESOMARK test signifies the beginning of a new era in monitoring mesothelioma malignancies," said Dr. W. Jeffrey Allard, vice president and chief scientific officer of Fujirebio Diagnostics. "As the first in-vitro test for patients with this aggressive disease, it will enable doctors to more accurately detect recurrence and monitor treatment of patients."
The MESOMARK Assay test kit was developed to measure levels of a biomarker, mesothelin, in serum. Biomarkers are substances found in higher-than-normal concentrations in the blood, urine or body tissues of patients with certain types of cancers. The test may be used to monitor patients confirmed as having mesothelioma, for recurrence in patients following surgery, or for measuring response to therapies.
"Current diagnostic tests are less than ideal for quantification of changes in tumor volume, which is key to managing the disease," continued Allard. "As the MESOMARK results correlate with tumor volume*, it provides a much needed tool for monitoring patient status. It is our plan to collect additional data in the future to support the use of the test to detect mesothelioma."
MESOMARK test are now making it possible - with a simple blood test -to monitor response to treatment and to detect recurrence following treatment. This provides an important head start to patients racing against this aggressive cancer. "The Meso Foundation is the national research funding, patient support and advocacy organization dedicated to eradicating mesothelioma as a life-threatening disease.
Those wishing to take part in MESOMARK testing will be asked to provide one or more samples of blood. The blood samples will then be sent to a national reference laboratory for testing. In conjunction with other clinical and laboratory data obtained by your doctor, decisions regarding your treatment and care may be simplified. You may discontinue testing at any time.

mesothelioma cancer disease
Mesotheliomas are the most common primary malignant tumors of the pleura.Other rare primary tumors of the pleura include fibrosarcoma, angiosarcoma, and other sarcomas.Mesotheliomas arise from pleura in about 80% of cases and from the peritoneum in the remaining 20%.In the chest, the tumors can arise from either the visceral or parietal pleura. Approximately 75% of these tumors are diffuse and malignant. The rest are localized and usually benign. Mesotheliomas are more common in men, who represent about 75% of all cases.
The benign mesothelioma, also known as a fibroma, is usually a small (1-2 cm) localized growth which may enlarge. These tumors always remain confined to the surface of the lung and do not normally produce a pleural effusion.Generally they become symptomatic when their growth impinges on adjacent structures within the chest. They are sometimes associated with hypoglycemia, and they are not associated with asbestos exposure.Histologically they are composed of whorls of reticulin and collagen fibers amongst cytologically benign spindled cells resembling fibroblasts.
The more common malignant pleural mesotheliomas, however, are strongly associated with asbestos exposure. In the normal population, mesotheliomas are rare tumors with an incidence of 2 to 17 cases per 1,000,000 people; however, in asbestos workers the relative risk is over 1000 times greater. The risk of bronchogenic carcinoma is increased only 5 fold in asbestos workers, but the risk is 55 times greater in asbestos workers who smoked. It should be stressed that there is no increased risk of mesothelioma in smokers who have asbestos exposure, which is in direct contrast to the association between asbestos exposure and bronchogenic carcinoma, where the risk is markedly increased.
Common occupational sources for asbestos exposure include the mining, milling, manufacturing processes. A history of shipyard work or replacement of automobile brake lining in the past places a patient at risk for mesothelioma. epidemiologic studies have determined that 70% to 90% of cases have identifiable asbestos exposure.
